Event Details

The Irma P. Hall Black Theatre Awards was founded in 2015 by DFW Black Arts. Named in honor of the
legendary actress Irma P. Hall, IPHBTA was created to honor the artistic excellence in performing and
technical theater for companies in the Dallas Ft Worth metroplex. Irma P. Hall, a Texas native, is a
stage and film actress. Best known for her standout role as the matriarch "Big Mama" in the film Soul
Food, Hall has nearly 100 film and television credits to her name.

The Irma P. Hall Black Theatre Awards, now in its 4th year, continues to shine the light on local artists and art makers. This years ceremony will honor with the Irma P Hall Medal of Arts Ed Smith (Lifetime Achievement), Teresa Coleman Wash (Arts Excellence), Terry D Loftis (Arts Philanthropy) and Jordan E Cooper (Dallas Illumination).
